Bath Sound Radio Launches Major Fundraising Weekend at the Royal United Hospital this Friday 10am-4pm!

The team at Bath Sound Radio, the Royal United Hospital's much-loved charity radio station, is inviting staff, patients, visitors and volunteers to join them for a special fundraising event taking place this Friday from 10am to 4pm outside the RUH Atrium.
The event marks the start of a two-day live fundraising marathon, with Bath Sound Radio broadcasting live from 8am to 10pm on both Friday and Saturday, all with one important goal: raising the vital funds needed to keep the station broadcasting for another year.
Supporting the RUH since 1964
Bath Sound Radio has been serving patients, staff and visitors at the Royal United Hospital since 1964, providing companionship, entertainment, information and comfort to thousands of people during their time in hospital.
What began as a traditional bedside radio service has evolved significantly over the decades. While technology and listening habits have changed dramatically, the mission remains the same: to bring people together and make a positive difference to the hospital community.
Today, Bath Sound Radio is entirely run by a dedicated team of volunteers who give up their time to create programmes, conduct interviews, raise funds, manage the station and keep the service running seven days a week.
Why We Need Your Support
Like many charities, Bath Sound Radio is facing increasing financial pressures.
The costs of maintaining equipment, licences, technology and broadcasting services continue to rise, while fundraising has become more challenging than ever. The removal of traditional bedside consoles and the growing choice of entertainment available through smartphones and streaming services has also made it harder to raise awareness of the service and attract new listeners.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps ensure that Bath Sound Radio can continue supporting patients and staff across the Royal United Hospital.

We're delighted that resident RUH musician Frankie Simpkins will be performing during the event around 11.30am, bringing live music and entertainment to supporters on the day.
